What's Local

Located just next to Bodfari in the breathtaking Vale of Clwyd, Y Cuddfan and its surrounding area have plenty to offer.

The pods are located near a quiet footpath (in the next field), which links on to the Offa’s dyke path further up the mountain.

Ruthin and Denbigh are the nearest towns, with Mold being well worth a visit on market day. Although very small, Denbigh has plenty of supermarkets and a few things to see, including the castle, and a drive through the town shows off some beautiful old buildings. There are free guided walking tours around Denbigh every Saturday and Sunday morning between May and September (in non-Covid times)
Ruthin has many independent shops and plenty of history. It is home to the medieval Ruthin Castle, the walls of which now form part of Ruthin Castle hotel, which has a spa and dining facilities.

Chester, Cheshire Oaks, Broughton Retail Park and Liverpool are all within an hour for shopping/cinema/larger restaurants although there is plenty of variety to be had closer to home. However, you need to travel to these locations for the bigger cinemas, Flip Out /Jump To It (trampoline park), crazy golf, ice-skating, tenpin bowling etc.

The stunning drive along the coast to the beautiful holiday resort of Llandudno is definitely worth a trip on a sunny day, or a stop off on the way to Anglesey or Snowdonia. There are some unique shops and plenty of places to eat, or simply enjoy a walk up the prom or some crazy golf, tobogganing or even skiing (on a dry slope) whilst looking out over the sea for a real holiday feeling!

There are vast, picturesque sandy beaches at Talacre for those wanting a slightly more remote feeling, which are also dog friendly. There are closer beaches but we think it’s well worth the drive.

Beautiful Snowdonia National park is less than an hour away with its world class walking, and now also, Zipworld (multiple locations) with its huge list of adrenaline activities not to be missed, including ziplines, the Fforest Coaster, Bounce Below, the Plummet, the Skyride, the slate caves, and Quarry Carts.

www.zipworld.co.uk located Betws y Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog, and Bethesda.

There is also Adventure Park Snowdonia to enjoy some gorge- walking, climbing, ziplines and freefalls, paddleboarding and mountain biking.
If you fancy a spot of surfing, Surf Snowdonia is definitely worth a visit.

There is also an outdoor go-carting track nearby.

Whilst in Snowdonia, we would recommend a trip to Llanrwst to see the beautiful Tu Hwnt I’r Bont. Originally built as a farmhouse in the 15th century, but now tearooms with the outside of the building completely covered by Virginia creeper.

For a steam train experience, you can visit Blaenau Ffestiniog or take a drive over the beautiful horshoe pass to visit Llangollen, where you can also enjoy a walk or a horse-drawn boat ride along the canals.

There are the famous gardens in Bodnant with plants brought back from expeditions in the 19th and 20th century, along with a farm shop. North Wales is lucky to have so many high quality farm shops.

Food

There are multiple pubs and eating options located within a short drive. However, if you don’t fancy cooking or going out, with a little notice, we are happy to help by providing delicious, locally sourced, home cooked takeaways.
The popular Dinorben Arms in Bodfari, with its incredible views and craft ales, is our most local option and is within walking distance (30 minutes)

The White Horse in Hendrerwydd is a family run pub that we would highly recommend, which is less than 4 miles away.

The local towns are full of restaurants, pubs and takeaways, which cater to every need, which we are happy to advise you on.
